A letter to All of Worldwide Bao’s Family Members on the Occasion of Winning the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards of Cultural Heritage Conservation (2011) for the Restoration of the ancient Watermill in the  Village of Baojiatun, Guizhou, China

Dear All of My Worldwide Bao’s Family Members,
In autumn 2011, the China Institute for the Bao’s Family History Studies was informed by Bangkok Office of UNESCO about that the Baojiatun Watermill, Guizhou Province, China was awarded a prize of Excellence of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards of Curtural Heritage Conservation (2011). In March this year, the UNESCO award plaque and its expository writing have been delivered to Beijing as well.

To win the prize from UNESCO is a rare good event of great happiness being worth to celebrate for every Chinese family. As an old man aged more than 80, I happened to be lucky to run into this moment and enjoyed the reward very much. I want to share my immeasurable joys and understanding about the significance of award winning with all of my China Bao family’s members.

1 The Important Significance of the Award Winning
The importance of the award winning can be accounted for by six factors.
A Authoratativeness of UNESCO.
B The highst grade of reward ---Excellence of award.
C Rarity of winning such an award by an institute for family history studies.
D The high technical implecation of the watermill and its inventor’s goodness to serve people in building irrigation works.
E The Bao family contemporary members’ ability of realizing the value of Bao’s ancient water conservancy project and their sense of responsibility to restore and recommend to the UNESCO.
F The good results of enomous fruitful efforts made by Bao’s Family Journal in its popularization of learning, researching and spreading Bao family’s cultural heritage projects for more than ten years.

2 The Profound Meaning of the hardearned Award
The reasons of winning the hardearned award can be explained by four important factors.
A The boldness, creativity, intellegence and wisdom of 600 years before Guizhou Bao family’s ancestor.
B The efforts made by Baojiatun’s all Bao’s family members in protecting carefully the watermill in the past 600 year period.
C Contemporary Bao’s family members’ awareness to set great store by the historical value of Baojiatun’s watermill.
D The supports from various authorities concerned.

3 Treasuring the Hardearned Award Wholeheartedly
Winning the Excellence of award is not so easy; we should treasure it wholeheartedly.
A Anyone from Bao’s family should cherish the honour of award.
B Everybody from Bao’s family should take care of all its ancient cultural heritages.
C Every Bao’s family member must keep in mind the obligation to do more credit to their family as far as possible.
In the face of receiving such highgrade award let’s have a congratuation each other, celebration and discussion about the significance of the event and Bao’s family members’ requiting duty to it among the people.
