阎晶明，1961年生，山西人，1983年毕业于山西大学中文系，同年入陕西师范大学中文系攻读鲁迅与中国现代文学史专业研究生，1986年毕业，获四川大学文学硕士学位。 　　1986－2002年任职于山西省作家协会，现供职于中国作家协会。出版有著作《十年流变———新时期文学侧面观》（1992年）、《批评的策略》（1996年）、《鲁迅的文化视野》（2001年）、《鲁迅与陈西滢》（2001年）、《独白与对话》（2004年）等，主编有《鲁迅演讲集》、《新批评文丛》、“大西部长篇小说丛书”等。 　　2002年4月, 应美国东方文化基金会，美国中国作家协会和耶鲁大学的邀请，他随中国作家代表团访问参观了洛杉矶，华盛顿，纽约和其他城市，到耶鲁大学和马克吐温故居进行了文化交流。 　　曾获第二届冯牧文学奖·青年批评家奖。
